Beech towards Somes-20" x 20" mixed media (collage, acrylic and oil) on birch

Beech mountain is frequently my inaugural hike once I arrive in Maine. My favorite section of the hike was closed. I used the opportunity to try another path to the top, this view opened up as I reached the top and wandered around. I was able to see Somes Sound, the only fiord on the east coast located on Mount Desert Island.
